Courtney Copeland
2025-26 Ohio Lamb and Wool Ambassador

The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association is proud to present Cortney Copeland of Lewistown, Ohio, as the 2025–2026 Ohio Lamb & Wool Ambassador. As a dedicated advocate for Ohio’s sheep, lamb and wool industry, Cortney brings a lifetime of passion, experience, and leadership to the role. Raised on the Copeland Family Sheep Farm, Cortney has hands on experience working with a wide range of breeds—including Columbia, Corriedale, Border Cheviot, Rambouillet, Natural Colored, Border Leicester, and black face crossbreds. From daily care to strategic breeding decisions, she supports her family’s operation while competing across county, state, and national sheep shows. Cortney is an active participant in both 4 H and FFA, where her excellence in supervised agricultural experience recently earned her the 2025 Ohio FFA Sheep Production Proficiency Award; an honor presented during the Ohio State FFA Convention recognizing outstanding achievement in sheep production. A graduate of Jackson Center High School, Cortney will begin pursuing a degree in Agricultural Education this fall at South Dakota State University. She aims to become an educator herself, mentoring the next generation of agricultural leaders just as her own mentors inspired her. In her role as Ohio’s Lamb & Wool Ambassador, Cortney is committed to educating consumers, supporting youth involvement, and promoting the value of lamb and wool products statewide. She will represent Ohio at fairs, educational events, and industry gatherings; sharing her expertise and enthusiasm with pride as well as learn from industries members and mentors. Cortney is honored to serve in this capacity and is excited to carry forward Ohio’s lamb and wool heritage with integrity, leadership, and a genuine love for the industry.
