Five Young Ohio Sheep Farmers Recipients Of 2025 OSIA Scholarships
Emma Peters (Darke Co.) received a $3,000 scholarship for the tenth annual Dr. Jack Judy Memorial Scholarship. Peters is a graduate master’s student studying International Agriculture at Oklahoma State University.
Avery Shoffner (Shelby Co.) received the $1,500 Ralph Grimshaw Memorial Scholarship. Shoffner is a sophomore studying Early Childhood Education at The Ohio State University.
Madison Feehan (Wood Co.), received the fifth annual High Family Memorial Scholarship for $1,500. Feehan is a junior studying Nursing at Bowling Green State University.
Eric Taylor (Fayette Co.) will receive a $1,500 scholarship awarded from the OSIA LEAD Council. Eric is studying Plant Science and is a Freshman at Purdue University.
Cortney Copeland (Logan Co.), was named the 2025-2026 Ohio Lamb and Wool Ambassador. Cortney will be studying Agricultural Education and is a Freshman at South Dakota State University. Cortney will receive a $1,500 stipend at the end of her OLWA reign at the 2026 Ohio State Fair.
The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association in coordination with the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundationsponsors the Dr. Jack Judy Memorial Scholarship, Ralph H. Grimshaw Memorial Scholarship, the High Family Memorial Scholarship, the OSIA LEAD Council Scholarship and the Ohio Lamb and Wool Ambassador Scholarships. Funds for the Judy, Grimshaw, High, OSIA LEAD Council and the Ohio Lamb and Wool Ambassador scholarships come from various funding sources including the Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium Silent Auction and private donations. The 2025 OSIA Scholarship recipients will be recognized during the OSIA LEAD Banquet and Awards Program on Saturday September 27, 2025 and during the Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium Awards program. on Saturday December 6, 2025.
